CASTILLO VARIETY

Colombian pride, grown with character

Grown at 5,900 feet above sea level, on the slopes of La Nogalera farm in the heritage-rich mountains of Jericó, Antioquia, this coffee reflects the true essence of its origin — a landscape shaped by beauty, tradition, and deep respect for the land. In this privileged terroir, Castillo reveals its fullest expression.

In the cup, Yuru by 923 Coffee offers a distinctive and sophisticated profile with notes of panela, wine, and tamarind. It features a bright medium acidity, a round body, and a lingering finish that leaves a memorable impression.

This lot is processed using the honey method, where part of the fruit’s sugary mucilage is left on the bean during drying. The result is a syrupy texture and layered complexity that elevates the cup’s natural vibrancy.

Yuru is handpicked at peak ripeness. More than a single-origin coffee, it is a deep sensory experience — a tribute to craftsmanship, place, and the soul of Colombian coffee.

INDIGENOUS CONNECTION, GENUINE COMMITMENT

At 923 Coffee, coffee is more than a product — it’s a relationship. We operate under a direct trade model, which means cutting out intermediaries, paying fair prices, and building consistent, respectful partnerships with the Indigenous communities who harvest our coffee. This allows us not only to ensure exceptional quality in every bean, but also to foster trust, continuity, and mutual growth.

Through this model, the Indigenous communities involved in our supply chain receive real recognition for their work, better income, and greater stability. But the impact goes further: direct trade strengthens local autonomy, supports family farming, encourages sustainable practices, and gives visibility to cultures that have long been excluded from the market. Every cup of 923 Coffee is the result of transparent dialogue, shared decisions, and a deep commitment to those who have cared for the land for generations.

SUSTAINABILITY WITH ROOTS

In many Indigenous communities, the relationship with the land goes beyond cultivation — it is a way of life. Though their cultures and rituals are diverse, they all share a common principle: to protect and regenerate the territory they inhabit. Their philosophy of conservation —resilient through time and untouched by extractive models— stands today as a powerful alternative to the pressures of the modern world.

Here, sustainability is not a label — it is an ancestral practice. Coffee is grown with deep respect, following the principles of circular agriculture, where nothing is wasted: organic byproducts are returned to the soil as nutrients, water is reused, and every action seeks to give back more than it takes. This approach results in coffee that is free from deforestation, cultivated without chemicals, and rooted in a healthy, thriving ecosystem.

More than a beverage, coffee becomes a vehicle for balance, connection, and responsibility — with the planet, and with those who have cared for it for generations.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

At 923 Coffee, we don’t just buy coffee — we build real relationships. We travel to each origin to follow the story from its roots: walking through mountains, listening to voices, and working directly with Indigenous People who cultivate the land with respect, wisdom, and a vision for the future. We don’t just evaluate the bean; we value the land, the hands, and the silence behind every harvest.

With over 30 years of experience in the world of coffee, we’ve learned that true quality doesn’t come only from well-executed processes, but from deep, honest relationships. We pay fair prices, build trust, and walk every step of the journey — from the plant to your cup.

Thank you for choosing 923 Coffee. Thank you for standing with those who care for the earth with devotion, who harvest with patience, and who deserve to be seen.

Because when you drink this coffee, you’re not just enjoying its flavor — you’re giving it meaning.
