THE GEISHA VARIETY IN COLOMBIA

An Ethiopian gem that found its home in the Colombian mountains

The Geisha variety, originally from the mountainous forests of Ethiopia, was introduced to Latin America in the 1950s. However, it was in Colombia—thanks to its privileged geography, high altitudes, and stable microclimates—where it found the ideal conditions to fully express its potential.

At 923 Coffee, we cultivate our Geisha at 6,692 feet above sea level, in the mist-covered mountains of Jardín, Antioquia. There, the cool climate and volcanic soil allow for a slow maturation, enhancing the coffee’s natural sweetness and aromatic complexity.

* Intense floral aromas, like jasmine and orange blossom
* Notes of ripe cherry and red wine
* Bright acidity and silky body
* A clean, lingering with hints of honey and panela.

Each cherry is handpicked with precision and care at its peak ripeness. This artisanal process ensures the purity of every batch and honors the skilled hands behind a truly exceptional experience.

INDIGENOUS WISDOM, SACRED AROMA

Every bean of Nipono carries a story that goes beyond flavor — it carries the legacy of the indigenous communities who harvest it with the wisdom passed down through generations. For them, coffee is not just a crop; it is a spiritual bridge to the earth, a gift that must be honored from seed to cup. Their Cosmovision — deeply connected to the cycles of nature and the sacred balance between all living things — is reflected in the way they respectfully handle every cherry.

At 923 Coffee, we not only celebrate the refined elegance of Geisha, but also the guardians behind it: Indigenous people whose patient hands and ancestral vision bring depth and meaning to every harvest. Through their work, this coffee becomes a universal message — that cultivating the land can be a spiritual act, and that true quality is born from care, culture, and connection.

SUSTAINABILITY WITH ROOTS

In many Indigenous communities, the relationship with the land goes beyond cultivation — it is a way of life. Though their cultures and rituals are diverse, they all share a common principle: to protect and regenerate the territory they inhabit. Their philosophy of conservation —resilient through time and untouched by extractive models— stands today as a powerful alternative to the pressures of the modern world.

Here, sustainability is not a label — it is an ancestral practice. Coffee is grown with deep respect, following the principles of circular agriculture, where nothing is wasted: organic byproducts are returned to the soil as nutrients, water is reused, and every action seeks to give back more than it takes. This approach results in coffee that is free from deforestation, cultivated without chemicals, and rooted in a healthy, thriving ecosystem.

More than a beverage, coffee becomes a vehicle for balance, connection, and responsibility — with the planet, and with those who have cared for it for generations.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT

At 923 Coffee, we don’t just buy coffee — we build real relationships. We travel to each origin to follow the story from its roots: walking through mountains, listening to voices, and working directly with indigenous people who cultivate the land with respect, wisdom, and a vision for the future. We don’t just evaluate the bean; we value the land, the hands, and the silence behind every harvest.

With over 30 years of experience in the world of coffee, we’ve learned that true quality doesn’t come only from well-executed processes, but from deep, honest relationships. We pay fair prices, build trust, and walk every step of the journey — from the plant to your cup.

Thank you for choosing 923 Coffee. Thank you for standing with those who care for the earth with devotion, who harvest with patience, and who deserve to be seen.

Because when you drink this coffee, you’re not just enjoying its flavor — you’re giving it meaning.
